Trump Has a New Dark Horse VP Candidate

Everyone from Democrats to Republicans have been speculating as to who Trump will select for his VP. He has spoken highly of several different potential candidates, including Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Many believe that who Trump chooses will be a total surprise and will “come out of left field” so to speak. One name that has been heard and is beginning to pick up some serious traction is retired Army Lt. General Michael Flynn.

Flynn once headed the Defense Intelligence Agency. In 2014 he was pushed out of this job as a result of differing opinions with President Obama.

While on Fox, Trump admitted he has two generals on his short list, which makes this even more likely. “I like the generals,” he said. “I like the concept of the generals. Actually, there are two of them that are under consideration.”

One issue: Flynn is a democrat. Which leads to a lot of issues. On the positive side, it would pull votes from democrats and it would show some bipartisanship. After many years of the republicans being gridlocked with the Obama administration this could be helpful.
